TL 250 Trials bike 1976

82Desmo
Hi all,
I have acquired a barn find trials bike and have a couple of basic questions that I hope someone can answer for me...
(Engine is the same as a 1976 XL250)

1. Do I need to run an additive in the fuel to protect the valves?
2. What engine oil should I use for a bike of this vintage?
3. Are there any other Honda trials owners in this forum?

Thanks guys,

Mal

There are some differences between the TL and XL engines, however, I cannot name them all. You should not need any additives in the gas. For oil, most everyone recommends Shell Rotella T4. It is safe for the wet clutches in these bikes. I used to have a TLR 200 which was a street legal Trials bike. However, it pretty much sucked at any type of riding you tried with it. How about some pictures of the bike?
